Welcome to my site.
I am a professional barefoot trimmer operating in Bath and the surrounding South West areas since 2003.
Barefoot trimming involves working closely with both the horse and owner, to restore health and balance whilst sharing knowledge with those responsible for the horses long term care.
I believe whole heartedly in the importance of putting the needs of the horse above all else. This commitment and level of care has earned me the trust of both horses and horse enthusiasts alike.
Six million years if evolution as prey animals, means that today’s wild and domestic horses owe their existence to their accurately honed flight instincts – their feet are testimony to this extraordinary evolutionary power. Uniquely designed, a horse’s foot is at once functional simplicity and a complex, mathematically definable key, correlating to many aspects of the horses wellbeing.
By implementing an individually tailored programme, structured around this knowledge, my barefoot trimming techniques can help with many common equine ailments, including among others: arthritic joints, poor horn quality, cracked hooves, tripping, short stride, intermittent lameness and laminitis etc.
It is important to state that barefoot trimming does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of diseases or deformities. However, I am happy to work with all horses, including those suffering from disease or deformity, often with beneficial effects.
One of the most valuable uses of barefoot trimming techniques is their use with foals and pregnant mares. This is an area I especially enjoy as early preventative work can have a dramatic influence over development and a horse’s quality of life.Reliable and well recommended I love my work and consider myself lucky to have such a truly rewarding vocation. My passion, combined with a professional and instinctual understanding for barefoot trimming, means that I have been lucky enough to witness some extraordinarily positive outcomes during my career.
My goal is to help you achieve a balanced and rewarding relationship with your horse.
